What is the format of the group stage?

The tournament follows a straightforward format. All 30 NBA teams will participate, divided into six groups, each comprising five teams. The groups consist of the Western Group and the Eastern Group, as shown below. Notably, the groups carefully balance the placement of the top teams from the 2022-2023 regular season.

How does the tournament work?

Each team will compete against the other four teams in their group, playing two games at home and two games on the road. Based on their performance in these four games, the top six teams with the best records will advance, while the remaining two teams with the next best records will become wild cards. Next, the tournament enters the knockout stage, where teams compete in single-elimination matches. The winning team from each match advances to the next round, while the losing team is eliminated. The ultimate victor will become the winner of the first NBA Cup.

Where will be the final?

The final will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on December 9.
